“SOURCE”

New exhibition at the Sopot Promenade

The Sopot Promenade invites you to a unique exhibition entitled “SOURCE” – an original project by Grzegorz “Cheeba” Waluś, visual artist, educator, and well-known musician and vocalist, co-founder of the legendary band Eastwest Rockers.

This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of colors, symbols, and emotions, where painting meets spirituality, music, and a journey through the cultures of the world. “SOURCE” is a story about identity, freedom, and memory — rooted in tradition, yet uncompromisingly contemporary.

Art as an act of resistance and return

In his paintings, Cheeba asks questions that are particularly relevant today:
What do we lose when we all become the same?
Where does freedom end and conformity begin?
It is a manifesto of opposition to global unification and a tribute to diversity, community, and spiritual autonomy.

In colorful compositions — from intense oranges and deep indigo to golden ochre — we find traces of Balinese rituals, Berber ornaments, and Tibetan mandalas. Color here becomes not only aesthetics, but a language — emotional and symbolic.

The artist who paints the world

Grzegorz “Cheeba” Waluś is an artist with many faces. He graduated from art studies under the supervision of Prof. Aleksander Dimitrowicz and Prof. Nikola Naskova. He has exhibited his works in Berlin, Barcelona, Sydney, Hong Kong, Wrocław, and Bali, among other places. His work has been part of numerous individual and collective exhibitions, and paintings from series such as “Homisimia,” “Golden Triangle,” “Phantalassa,” “Holy Water,” and “Yaard” have been recognized both in Poland and abroad.

“SOURCE” – a spiritual journey

This exhibition is the artist’s personal map — filled with the rhythm of nature, spirituality, and respect for diversity. Each canvas is an invitation to reflect, return to one’s roots, and encounter one’s own identity.
